PT Launcher by Picktek
Here to help

A familiar place
to start.

PT Launcher requires macOS 14 or later. There is no Picktek account to create.

Getting started

  1. Choose New profile or Copy existing, then choose Claude or Codex.
  2. Approve the macOS folder access dialogs when you are ready. PT Launcher completes setup for you.
  3. Sign in inside the provider’s app if asked.
  4. Use Open, Focus and Close beside each profile. The three-dot button opens clear actions for naming and finding its folder.

Try it without an account

Choose Explore demo. It provides fictional profiles and sample windows. Sample copies use the real copy engines and preserve their original fixtures. No real accounts are accessed. Vendor sessions and update results are explicitly simulated.

Where are profiles stored?

The default is ~/Developer/_pt_launcher. Each profile has its own named folder. Support files live in the single _pt folder. Change or connect a library in Settings. Switching libraries leaves the previous one in place. macOS keeps permissions, preferences and required launch scripts in its standard locations.

What does copying preserve?

Claude profiles include saved Desktop and Claude Code data. Codex profiles include saved sessions, settings and available account data; copied worktrees get independent Git metadata. External project folders remain shared. Schedules and queued work are left inactive in the copy. Original files stay in place, and copying does not close the original app. Changes made after copying are not synchronized.

Why might I need to sign in again?

The provider controls account access. Some credentials are tied to an installation or macOS Keychain. Sign in inside the new app window when asked.

Installing and updating

The app checks official release information while open. Clicking the status checks again; if the app is current, it shows that inline. Downloads and installations require your action. Update installation explains when app windows need to close normally.

Dock labels

The current development integration uses a separate local helper for Claude Dock labels. The combined App Store version of this feature is still being verified.
